Video and Photography at Smart City Expo 2026, Barcelona: Stands, Talks and Awards
I’m Marcos Pérez, and I cover stands, talks and award ceremonies with video and photography at Smart City Expo World Congress 2026, from 3 to 5 November in Halls 2 and 3 at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via. I work for urban tech, energy, mobility and infrastructure companies coming to meet city councils and partners from around the world. Here the product is often a platform, a sensor or a pilot project, so what needs filming is the demo, the meeting and the explanation from the people who built it.
Three days at Gran Via with cities from over a hundred countries
Smart City Expo World Congress returns to Fira de Barcelona Gran Via from 3 to 5 November, in Halls 2 and 3. The 2025 edition brought together more than 27,000 attendees from 143 countries. The congress is built around tracks (enabling technologies, energy and environment, mobility, housing, governance, infrastructure and building, blue economy) and shares the venue with Tomorrow.Mobility, Tomorrow.Blue Economy, HOWS, Barcelona Deep Tech Summit and Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress. The World Smart City Awards are presented during the show, and startups have their own space in the Innovation Playground. Opening hours are 9am to 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 9am to 5pm on Thursday.
Much of this show’s value lies in the meetings: a mayor stopping by your stand, an agreement with a transport operator, a talk by your head of innovation. They happen at a set time on a set day, so they’re worth filming, because afterwards they feed the press release, LinkedIn and your next tender.
Photography of institutional meetings, demos and tech products
I photograph your stand with people in it: the demo on screen, the delegation watching it, the handshake that seals a partnership. For physical products such as a sensor, a charger or a vehicle, I look for clean shots you can use on a product sheet or in a pitch to a city council.
Videos for urban tech, energy and mobility companies

I deliver every video in vertical and horizontal format and, if you need it, with English subtitles. Use it on LinkedIn, YouTube, your website and in presentations to public authorities abroad that couldn't make it to Barcelona.
Award or signing photos on the same day

A good video of the pilot or the demo is still useful months later in proposals, project reports and presentations to new municipalities. I invoice companies and work with your agency or communications team.
Explainer video for a solution you can't see on a stand
A traffic management platform or an air-quality sensor network can’t be understood from the aisle. A short video can show the problem, the solution on screen and the result in a real city, in the voice of the people who developed it. You reuse that piece in every meeting with a city council. I prepare short clips for LinkedIn and fuller videos for your website, newsletter or institutional communication. Before filming we decide who we’re talking to: municipal technical staff, elected officials, urban service operators, investors or partners in a European consortium.
Spokesperson portraits and photos for press and project reports
I shoot portraits of your executives and speakers with the show in the background, plus product photos for press releases, project reports and articles in tech and urban management media. They come ready to lay out.
How I fit filming into a meetings schedule
At this congress the agenda rules. Before 3 November you send me the confirmed meetings, talks and visits, and we mark which ones get filmed. Private meetings stay off camera, and for the rest I ask visitors for permission before filming them.

Questions from Smart City Expo World Congress exhibitors
Can you film a city delegation's visit to my stand?
Yes. If you tell me the time, I’ll be in position before the delegation arrives and film the explanation, the demo and the goodbye. Before publishing anything, it’s worth getting the city’s press office to approve images of its officials.
Do you also cover my company's talk at the Smart City Expo congress?
Yes. I film the full talk or the best moments and photograph the speaker and the room. If it’s in a different hall from your stand, we plan the timing so both are covered without missing key meetings.
Do you deliver videos with English subtitles?
Yes, if you ask when booking. Many Smart City Expo exhibitors communicate with cities in several countries, so I prepare English or Spanish subtitled versions at no extra filming cost; only editing time changes, and it stays within 24 to 72 hours.
My project is a World Smart City Awards finalist. Can you be at the ceremony?
Yes, if access allows. I photograph the award moment and film a short statement afterwards, and send you a selection that afternoon so you can post it while the topic is live on LinkedIn.
Can I use the material in a tender or a European Commission report?
Yes. You get royalty-free use with no expiry for proposals, project reports, your website and social media, with an invoice to your company. Just bear in mind that everyone who appears must have agreed to that use.
